Citroen 2CV's (duh shuh vo)

The one we rode in. Photographed and ridden in, in Paris France.

The name 2CV means two horses, which means two horsepower, because it only has two pistons. The French pronunciation is "deux chevaux." It was France's version of the Ford Model T.  They were made from 1948 to 1990. 3,872,583 2CVs were made. They were made for simplicity, versatility, reliability, and last of all off road driving. They were an economy car. The 2CV was optional in 4 wheel drive as well as front 2 wheel drive. From 1988 to 1990 2CVs were made in Portugal instead of Paris. The designer's name was Flaminio Bertoni. I think they are pretty fun to ride in. They have very soft seats.

  1. Will's World of Cars rocks! Keep it up, my friend, I can't wait for your next post. I want some photos of low riders, trucks with dualies, and eighties sports cars.

  2. If you pronounce the letter V in French by itself, isn't it "vay" not "voh"? I suspect it was intentional word play, but I don't think "voh" is literally correct?
